On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the final conference of the Romania-Republic of Moldova cross-border cooperation programme 2014-2020 took place in Chisinau. The event brought together the management structures, project beneficiaries, diplomatic missions in Chisinau and representatives of the European Commission.

On March 14, 2024, the management structures of the Joint Operational Programme Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020 organize the closing conference of this programme in Chisinau.

Continental Europe successfully synchronized with Ukraine and Moldova power systems

On March 16, 2022, the trial synchronisation of the Continental European Power System with the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova started. The acceleration of the synchronisation project ongoing since 2017 has been possible due to the previous studies carried out, among which the feasibility study drawn up within Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013 cross border cooperation programme.

The Government Emergency Ordinance no. 25/2021 on amending and supplementing some normative acts in the field of public procurement was published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, number 346.

The ordinance modifies the national legislative framework by regulating some aspects related to the participation of third country operators in public procurement procedures.

30 years of Interreg bringing together communities, regions and neighbouring states

In 2020, the European Union marks 30 years of territorial cooperation both between Member States and between them and countries on the external borders.

1.4 million Euro contracts signed during the pandemic

Considering the present COVID-19 spread and the restrictions in force in both partner countries, the Managing Authority of Romania-Republic of Moldova Joint Operational Programme has taken several measures both for the continuation of the contracting process, as well as for projects’ implementation. Therefore, the Managing Authority submitted to the Monitoring Committee’s approval for the beneficiaries having projects under contracting to be allowed to submit on-line the requested documents, while the original documents may be submitted after the movement restrictions are lifted, issue foreseen by new contractual clauses, adapted to the present situation.

INFORMATION FOR BENEFICIARIES regarding project implementation in the context of coronavirus disease COVID-19

In the context of the current outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the threat of a pandemic that has become very real and the World Health Organization recommended actions related to the measures that restrict the movement of people during this outbreak, movement that should be proportionate to the public health risk, short in duration and reviewed regularly as more information about the virus, the disease epidemiology and clinical characteristics becomes available,
Taking into consideration the preventive measures recommended by both the Romanian and the Moldovan Governments regarding the presence and transmission of the new type of coronavirus among the population, as well as the announcement of positive COVID-19-test results in the eligible area of the Romania-Republic of Moldova Joint Operational Programme,
And the necessity to activate coordination mechanisms as early as possible and well before community transmission of COVID-19 occurs widely,
