On November 14, 2018, the European Commission approved the four large infrastructure projects submitted for financing under Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020 Joint Operational Programme.
The total value of the projects is of 40.5 million Euro, out of which 24.3 million Euro represent EU contribution.
The Managing Authority of the programme has undergone all necessary steps for the approval of the four large infrastructure projects submitted by the Romanian authorities together with those from the Republic of Moldova in order to receive financing under Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020 Joint Operational Programme. The approved projects are, as follows:
Out of these, the Communication Infrastructure project is a continuation of the project financed under Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova programme. By means of the new project, optical fiber equipment will be installed on Iasi-Chisinau route, a trilateral police center will be built and made operational in the Republic of Moldova and the police inspectorates from the Republic of Moldova will be interconnected.
Furthermore, the project aiming at the improvement of the Mobile Emergency Service represents a continuation of the project financed during 2007-2013 period, by means of which this system has been set up in Moldova. The project to be financed consists of building and setting up 7 helicopter landing platforms – three in Romania (Iasi, Galati, Botosani or Vaslui) and four in the Republic of Moldova (two in Chisinau, one in Balti and one in Cahul), building a training facility in Iasi for the emergency services from both states and building of two emergency units in the Republic of Moldova (Chisinau and Balti).
The activities of the projects will be carried out within 36 months from the contracting date.
