Three Customs Offices from the Romanian-Moldovan border will be modernised with European funds

On June 28th, 2019, the Managing Authority for Romania-Moldova Joint Operational Programme, within the Ministry for Regional Development and Public Administration, and the National Agency for Fiscal Administration in Romania signed the financing contract for the project called “Rehabilitation and modernization of the Customs Offices from the Romanian-Moldovan border, respectively the Customs Offices of Albita-Leuseni, Sculeni-Sculeni and Giurgiulesti-Giurgiulesti”, totalising 10 million Euro.

The project will finance reconstruction and rehabilitation works, as well as endowment of the customs offices at the Romanian-Moldovan border points from Albita-Leuseni, Sculeni-Sculeni and Giurgiulesti-Giurgiulesti. Furthermore, the roads in the border offices area will be rehabilitated and IT equipment (surveillance systems) and other types of equipment (lighting and signaling systems) will be bought.
The lead partner of the project is the National Agency for Fiscal Administration, which will implement this project in a partnership with the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, the Regional General Directorate for Public Finance in Iași (Romania) and the Regional General Directorate for Public Finance in Galați (Romania).
The total budget of the project is of 10 million Euro, out of which 6.4 million European funds. The project duration is 36 months.
